New Balance Games:  Sheepshead Bay NY, blistered a US#1 in the 4x200 meter relay with a time of 1:30.34.  Chris Fitzsimons, Hamden CT, the US#1 runner in the 600, won the boys mile run with a time of 4:17.33. It was his first time running the mile.  Fitzsimons also anchored the Hamden 4x800 relay team to a victory in 7:56.85.  Emily Lipari, Roslyn NY, rolled to a US#1 time in the girls one mile run of 4:53.84.  Medgar Evers NY won the 4x400 with a US#2 time of 3:52.17.  They also won the 4x200 with a time of 1:41.35.   Newburgh Free Academy NY won the boys 4x400 relay in 3:22.  St. John Villa Academy NY moved into the US#1 spot with a victory in the 4x800m relay in 9:12.  Washington Township NJ, won the boys SMR with a US#1 time of 3:32.90.

Kevin Dare Invitational: Brady Gehret, Altoona PA, opened his indoor season with a bang.  Gehret ran a 48.06 for US#1 in the 400 meter dash and 21.44 for US#2 in the 200 meter dash.  Carlton Lavong, Methacton PA, bettered his own US#1 mark by .75 inches with a spectacular jump of 24-6.25.  Lavong also won the triple jump with a US#2 mark of 49-1 (Carlton is US#1 with 49-8).  Bill Ledder, Gonzaga MD, won the 800 meter dash by 4 seconds with a US#1 time of 1:54.21.  DeMatha Catholic MD, went US#4 in the 4x200 relay with a time of 1:29.83.  Jennifer Clayton, Suffern NY, had a busy day in PA, winning her specialty, the long jump, with an 18-8.75, which was good enough for the win.  She also won the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.76, and the 200 meter dash with a US#4 time of 24.56.  Ambrosia Iwugo, Elizabeth Seton MD, won the 400 meter dash with a US#5 time of 55.83.

 


University of Findlay HS Invite D1:  Justin Welch, Eastwood OH, already US#1, went over 70 feet again with a throw of 71-8 in the weight throw.  Matthew Hoty, Perkins OH, won the shot with a throw of 62-1.75.  Hoty is already US#2.  

 

 

Rock 'N Roll Throw Off:  Melissa Kurzdorfer, Lancaster NY, won the shot put and extended her US#1 reach with a throw of 49-3.25.  She also won the weight throw with a 58-2.75 toss.

 

 

SCC Coaches Invitational:  Lindsay Crevoiserat, Glastonbury CT, won the girls 3200 meter run with a US#5 time of 10:39.95.  John Raneri, New Fairfield CT, won the boys 3200 meter run with a US#4 time of 9:16.34.  Ryan Laemel, Amity CT, and Ryan Pajor, Glastonbury CT, were neck and neck in the 1600 meter run with Laemel winning 4:19.19-4:19.37.  Chris Linares, New Britain CT, won the 300 meter dash with a time of 35.75.

 

 

Andover vs. Billerica:  Earlier this week Moira Cronin, Andover MA, won the high jump at a dual meet with a height of 5-10 to take a share of US#1 along with Maryland jumpers Amina Smith and Lacey Shuman.  

 

 

SMAC Championships:  Amina Smith, Patuxent MD, already US#1, won the high jump with a leap of 5-8.  Daquanya Byrd-West, Westlake MD, won the 55 meter dash with a US#13 time of 7.13. 

 


MITS Meet @ Michigan State:  Megan Goethals, Rochester MI, made her indoor debut with a 5:00.62 1600 meter run to win by 13 seconds over teammate Brooke Handler, 5:13.64.  

 

 

KTC Indoor Classic: Brett Hardin, Harrison GA, already US#2 in the weight, set a new mark of 68-7.50.  Shelby Ashe, St. Pius X GA, won the girls weight throw with a US#2 mark of 58-2.  The mark is also a US#6 all-time mark.  Shelby was also 2nd in the shot put with a US#5 throw of 43-7.75.  Sarah Howard, Trinity Christian GA, won with a US#4 throw of 44-1.75.  Paul Malquist, Gainesville GA, improved his pole vault to US#2 with a mark of 16-00.25. 

 

 

Douglas Freeman Polar Bear:  Grant Pollock, Mills Godwin VA, ran an impressive 2:29.37 in the 1000 meter run, which would put him right up at the top of the indoor rankings, although the meet was run outdoors.  Marques Atkinson, Atlee VA, won the 500 meter dash with a time of 1:05.53 with brother Michael 2nd in 1:05.80.  Complete write-up from MileStat.com

 

 

Wildcat Classic: Ryan Eaton, Greenwood KY, ran a US#3 4:13.40 for a 14 second win in the one mile run.  Video Interview Here!

 

 

St. Christophers Indoor Meet #6: Nikki Nunn, Manchester VA, won the long jump with a US#2 leap of 19-4.50.

 

 

Mid Area Track Classic: Yazid Zouaimia, Centreville VA, won the 3200 meter run with a blazing US#3 performance of 9:16.  Hannah Brown, Blacksburg VA, went US#11 in the 500 meter dash with a time of 1:17.92.  Teammate Kathleen Stevens won the 3200 with a time of 10:29.

 

 

 

36th Annual Morris County Championship: Nick Vena, Morristown NJ, does it again!  This time bettering his National Junior Class Record and NJ State Record by 5.25 inches with a monster throw of 71-3.75.  More NJ coverage will be posted here

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

PSAL Martin Luther King Relays:  William E. Grady NY won the boy SMR with a huge new US#1 time of 3:33.48, leading two others under the mark.  Midwood NY finished second with a US#2 time of 3:34.57 and Christopher Columbus NY finished third with a US#3 time of 3:34.95.  The girls SMR was just as big with Benjamin CardozoNY winning with a blazing US#1 time of 4:07.63.  Medgar Evers NY finished just back with a new US#2 time of 4:07.80.  Cardozo also won the 4x200 meter relay with a US#3 time of 1:41.90.  US#4 Medgar Evers added a 4x400 win with a time of 3:55.23.  Sheepshead Bay NY won the boys 4x200 meter relay with a US#4 time of 1:30.20.  Medgar Evers NY was a fraction of a second behind with a US#5 time of 1:30.26.

 

 

LSU High School Qualifier:

Merritt Van Meter (Metairie Par, LA) vaulted to a winning height of 12-08.  Van Meter holds the US#1 spot at 13.2.   T.K. Fleming (Benton, LA) moved into US#3 with a 23-10.50 Long Jump over 2nd place Dezmon Green (Central Lafourche, LA).  Green's jump of 23-9.75 earned him a US#4 place.  Fleming also won the Triple Jump with a jump of 47-11.25 moving him into US#4.  In the boys poll vault Andreas Duplantis (Lafayette, LA) vaulted 15-6.00 putting him in a 4-way tie for US#5

 

Cerritos College Outdoors All-Comers:

Harrison Steed (JSerra, CA) clears 7-02.50 in the high jump while Michael Woepse (Mater Dei,CA) clears 16-00 in the pole vault.

 

Carl Lewis High School Invitational:

Seth Arnold  and Mark Thomas, both from Texas, cleared the Pole Vault in 16-00.00.  Arnold moves into US#3 while Thomas is already ranked at US#1 with a mark of 16-6.
