MITS Meet #1 @ University of Michigan: Omar Kuddurah, Grand Blanc, won the 1600 meter run with a US#1 4:14.95 (US#4 when including Mile times). Kendall Baisden, Detroit Country Day, won the 200 meter dash with a time of 24.40, tying for US#1. Justin Welch, Eastwood, (current US#1 76-6) won the weight throw with another 70+ heave of 70-3.5. Justin Clark went 6.97 in the boys 60 meter dash which is US#6. |
Chamique Francis, Cardoza, won the 400 meter dash with a big US#1 time of 55.69 and the 200 meter dash with a US#2 time of 24.42. Michelle Brown, Seneca, won 2nd with a US#3 time of 55.81. Patrick Farmer, St. Anthony's, (Interview) took over the US#1 spot in the 400 meter dash with a 48.12 winning time. Katie Kinkead, Central Bucks East, took over US#1 in the 3000 meter run with a time of 10:00.23. Carlton Lavong, Methacton, (Photo below by Mary DiBiase Blaich, wingedfootrunners.com) won the long jump (Video) with a leap of 24-5.5 for US#1 and the meet record. Lavong won the triple jump as well with a US#1 mark of 49-8 after jumping 49-3 in the prelims. Medgar Evars won the 4x200 meter relay with a US#1 time of 1:40.10 and the 4x400 meter relay with a US#1 time of 3:55.13. Cheltenham boys won the 4x400 meter relay with a US#1 time of 3:20.51 and the 4x200 meter relay with a US#2 time of 1:29.69. US#'s 2-5 times were run in the girls 4x800 meter relay with Northport winning in US#2 9:24.51.
Garden City was 2nd in US#3 9:27.82, Bronxville was 3rd in US#4 9:28.82, and Lenape Regional was 4th in US#5 9:32.83. Haddonfield won the boys 4x800 meter relay with a US#2 time of 7:55.44 to narrowly edge rival Christian Brothers Academy, 2nd in US#3 7:55.51. Lateisha Philson, Benjamin Cardoza, went US#2 in the 55 meter hurdles prelims with a time of 8.06. Valencia Hannon, Elmont, went US#4 in the prelims of the 55 meter dash with a time of 7.07. Amy Cheung, Connetquot, went US#1 in the 1500 meter race walk with a time of 7:00.70. Josh Haghoghi, Wheatly, won the shot put with a US#2 mark of 61-9.5. Shnell Wishart, Medgar Evars, won the triple jump with a US#1 mark of 39-10.50. O'Niell Sandeford, Robeson, won the high jump in 6-10 and finds himself in a 4-way tie for US#1. Southern Tier Collegiate Open: Andrew Faldermeyer won against collegiate competition in the 35-lb. weight throw with a US#2 All-Time mark of 63-3.25.

 State College HS Invitational #1: Brady Gehret, Altoona, got off to a great start, winning three events, the 200 in a US#2 time of 21.6; the 400 in a US#8 time of 49.6; and the long jump with a leap of 22-10. |
Arkansas High School Invitational: Fuquawn Greene, New Bern, had a big day on the track with a US#1 mark in the 60 meter dash of 6.77 and a US#2 mark in the 200 meter dash of 21.53m, both set in the prelims. Greene won the 60 in 6.83 and the 200 in 21.60. Aaliyah Brown won the 200 meter dash in a US#3 time of 24.70. Cessily Jones, Plainfield North, was 2nd in 24.89, but ran US#4 24.82 in the prelims. Brock Hime won the 3000 meter run with a US#5 time of 8:58.47. Daniel Everett, Westminster Christian Academy, won the One Mile run with a US#10 time of 4:18.25.
Texas A&M HS Invitational: Sherriod Evans, Fort Bend Dulles, won the 200 meter dash with a big US#1 mark of 21.38 after his mark was temporarily taken by Fuquawn Greene earlier today in Arkansas. He went then US#1 21.72 in the 200 meter prelims yesterday. Veronica Jones went US#1 in the 200 meter dash with a time of 24.40 to defeat Taylor Houston, Fort Bend Elkins, US#4 24.74. Blessing Mayungbe went US#4 with her 400 meter dash victory in a time of 55.88.
Dartmouth Relays: Melissa Kurzdorfer threw US#1 and US#5 All-Time in the collegiate/open weight throw with an incredible mark of 60-2. She also won the shot with a throw of 46-9. Will Geoghegen, Brunswick, won the 2 mile run with a US#2 time of 9:18.70. Francis Hernandez, Bishop Guertin, won the One Mile run with a time of 4:17.28. Arianna Vailas, Manchester, won the girls One Mile run with a time of 5:02.63. Lizzie Predmore, Shenendehowa, won the girls 2 mile run with a US#1 time of 10:36.89. Melissa Kurzdorfer won the shot put with a throw of 47-5 and the weight throw with a mark of 55-7.

Day 1 at this meet was certainly a showcase with 13 US#10 performances. Leading the way was a Midlothian, VA, girls 4x800 squad, who ran a US#6 time of 9:36.64 in the event. Samantha Scarlett, Bethel, went 8.17 in the 55 meter hurdles for US#5. Cameron Overstreet, Atlee, recorded a US#5 pole vault mark of 11-6. Rashaun Combs, Bethel, went US#5 in the 500 meter dash with a time of 1:18.39. Teammate Maya Moore went US#6 in the 500 with a time of 1:18.42, just behind Rashaun. Daniel McFadden, Heritage, went 7.58 in the 55 meter hurdles for US#6. Nick Dew, First Colonial, was 2nd with a US#9 time of 7.59. In the girls long jump Niki Nunn, Manchester, won with a US#4 18-11. Nikki already has US#2 19-2.25. Renay Ransaw, Hampton, was 2nd with a US#7 18-5.25, and Montasia Golden, Lee-Davis, was 3rd with a US#8 18-4. Walter Mitchell, Salem, won the 55 meter dash with a US#8 time of 6.46, just ahead of Trevor Elie, Atlee, who ran a US#9 6.50. Devron Harris, Manchester, won the high jump with a US#10 mark of 6-6.
LSU High School Classic: Cory McGee, Pass Christian, won the girls 800 meter run with a solo US#3 performance of 2:14.81, to win by over 8 seconds. McGee then doubled back in the 1600 meter run to win with a US#1 time of 4:57.51. Merritt Van Meter, Metairie Park, put up a huge mark in winning the pole vault with a US#1 mark of 13-2. The mark is US#14 All-Time. Morgann Leleux finished 2nd with a US#2 mark of 12-10. Jonathan Jones, Carrollton, won the 55 meter hurdles with a US#1 time of 7.43.
Tar Heel High School Indoor Classic: Jarrett Samuels, Vance, won the boys long jump with a US#2 leap of 23-8. Tristine Johnson, Jordan, went US#3 38-8.75 to win the girls triple jump. John Minnott, Union Pine, upset Steven Bell (current US#3), in the boys triple jump with a US#5 leap of 47-3. John Schilkowsky, Patton, won the boys 500 meter dash with a US#5 time of 1:06.98. Ebony Scott, Raleigh, won the girls 55 meter dash with a US#6 time of 7.14. Teammate Dannielle Davis won the girls 55 meter hurdles with a US#6 time of 8.20.
Southeastern Invitational: Joel Coleman, Oscar Smith, is lightning fast for a sophomore. Joel ran a US#1 6.36 for the 55 meter dash. Ricky Blake, Nansemond River, went 48-2 for a US#2 mark in the triple jump. Sophomore Shakeela Saunders, Great Bridge, went US#2 39-0.50 in the triple jump and US#4 7.06 in the 55 meter dash. Monica Williams , Green Run, went US#1 in the 500 meter dash with a time of 1:16.34. Shakeela Saunders went flat track US#1 and overall US#3 in the 300 meter dash with a time of 39.20.
 DVGTCA Indoor Meet #5: Strath Haven went US#4 in the 4x800 with a time of 9:39.21, leading 7 other teams under 9:57 in a very fast race. Academy of Notre Dame was 2nd in a US#6 time of 9:44.47. Atlantic Coast League Meet #4: Sam Bombaugh, MA, became only the third putter over 60 with his US#3 throw of 60-4.25 yesterday at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston.
SCC Boys Developmental Meet #2: Chris Fitzsimons, CT, ran a US#1 time in the 600 meter dash, winning by over 4 seconds with a time of 1:20.63.
Calvert County Invitational: Amina Smith, MD, cleared 5-10 in the high jump to tie Lacey Shuman, MD, for US#1.
WMC Meet: Mark McCauley, ME, ran a solo 1:56.30 in the 800 meter run to grab the US#2 spot in the nation for the event.
Track Universe HS Invitational: Emily Kianka, NJ, leapt 5-9.5 to take over the US#2 spot in the US.
36th Annual Morris County Relays: Nick Vena, NJ, threw the shot an unofficial 70-5.25 to set a new indoor best and break his own National Junior Class mark. NJRunners.com story
