Kamiakin (WA)
Two years ago, Kamiakin High School out of Washington finished a stellar 7th place at Nike Cross Nationals. Several of their runners who were the back end of that top 7 two Decembers ago at Portland Meadows have now emerged as the team's leaders entering this season including Andrew Snyder (15:19 PR) and Cameron Glade (15:22 PR). Unable to make it to nationals last year from a very difficult and competitive region with the likes of eventual national champs Gig Harbor and two watch list programs for this year in North Central (WA) and Central Catholic (OR), the Kamiakin boys are hoping this year they can back to Portland in December to show themselves as one of the nation's top 10 teams again. Kamiakin is among a short list of teams nationally who have an entire top 5 back who have dipped under 16 minutes in the 5K and their 3200 times from the outdoor season ranked righ there with other top programs in the country with Snyder as their ace with a 9:05 best and a remaining top 5 of returnees ranging from 9:35 to 9:46.
