What To Watch At The New York Relays

Sprints

It's a who's who in New York for the sprints. Last year's breakout star, and returning champ, sophomore Janelia Williams (Robeson) takes on the PSAL City Champ over 55m Athaleyha Hinckson (Medgar Evers) in the 100m dash. Williams will then move up to the 200m, where she'll face the Indoor 55m Champs Sariah Doresca and 300m Champ Breanne Barnett, both from Baldwin. Baldwins 4x200m is the three time reigning champ Indoors, and their third leg Jahzara Emeli will face off against the State Leader Haylie Donovan (Somers) in the 400m.

For the boys, it's just as loaded. Indoor National Medalist over 400m (and Top 10 All-Time over 300m) Jordaine Johnson (East Orange Campus NJ) is dropping down in distance, and taking on the 100m. New York State Indoor medalist Kaiden White (Islip) will lead the 200m, while the Indoor State Champ Nicholos Sealey (Harry S. Truman) will be tackling the 400m. Sealey is US #2 in the 400H after his debut already this season, only a Junior.

Hurdles

Speaking of Hurdles, its two debuts by known factors. Taylor Foster (Brearley) won the Indoor State Title, but competed for her club the past Spring Seasons. She's the State Leader already, but this is her first time in the State System for Spring, making her eligible for a State Title. The reverse is true of Wyatt Gravier (Bronxville), who was the reigning Outdoor Champion for the 110HH, but a hamstring pull mid-season shutdown his chances of an Indoor Title to match. He's entered as the top seed here, in his return.
