Elizabeth Leachman made history at Nike Indoor Nationals, shattering the high school 5,000-meter record with a time of 15:28.89. The Boerne Champion sophomore clocked a blistering 4:59.63 at 1,600 meters and held on to finish nine seconds ahead of the previous record. Her performance surpassed Katelyn Tuohy's 2018 mark of 15:37.12 and set a new sophomore class record. Quincy Wilson set a new U.S. high school indoor 400m record with a time of 45.76, breaking Elzie Coleman's 20-year-old record of 45.92 from the 2004 Simplot Games. Wilson's performance marks only the second time a quarter-miler has broken 46 seconds indoors. Continue reading...
