Date: Feb. 4th, New Balance Indoor Grand Prix
Breakdown: JoJo Jourdon, the reigning Nike Cross Nationals champion, became the 21st high school athlete to break four minutes in the mile, clocking 3:59.87 at the New Balance Grand Prix. The Olympus High (UT) senior, paced by Jaxson Hoey through 1,000 meters, surged ahead on the backstretch to secure the sixth-best indoor time in history.

At the Bruce Lehane Scarlet and White Invitational, Sadie Engelhardt aimed to break Juliette Whittaker's 1K national record of 2:39.41 but narrowly missed, clocking a U.S. No. 1 and No. 4 all-time mark of 2:41.00. Emerald Ridge junior JaiCieonna Gero-Holt overcame an early miss to finish second at the USATF Indoor Championships in Albuquerque, clearing a personal best of 1.89m (6-2.25). The 17-year-old improved on her fifth-place finish from last year, finishing behind champion Vashti Cunningham (1.92m). Gero-Holt's previous best was 1.87m at the USATF U20 Championships in July. Drew Griffith delivered a historic performance on Saturday at the Golden Dome high school 2-mile during the Alex Wilson Invitational at Notre Dame, clocking 8:38.67 to claim an all-conditions U.S. No. 1 time. Facing a field of national cross country qualifiers, the reigning Foot Locker Nationals champion led a race that saw four others finish under nine minutes, producing the nation's top five performances this season. While the oversized 320m track excludes the time from national record charts, Griffith's effort surpassed Cheserek's mark and made him just the second athlete ever to break 8:40 indoors.
