19. Coronado (CO)
- - -
Analysis: After finishing fourth at the Colorado 4A State Championships in 2023, the boys in red are bringing back five of their top seven, including standout sophomore Oliver Horton. As a freshman, Horton led the way for the Cougars, clocking a season's best of 15:10, the fastest time ever run by a Colorado freshman. Horton is surrounded by talent, including three teammates who ran 16:05 or faster last year.
With a low-stick like Horton, the potential for Coronado is there, but this squad would be an even more potent threat if they can find a way to close the gap between Horton and Ryan Slater, their fifth-fastest runner from last year. As one of the favorites to take the 4A title, Coronado is a team that will be incredibly dangerous if their competition underestimates them.
