Over the span of this year's outdoor season, Grace Stark won her first outdoor NCAA outdoor title, then became a first-time Olympian in the 100 meter hurdles.
Starks secured a third-place finish at the U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials, solidifying her spot on the U.S. team following a career best effort of 12.31 seconds. The Florida Gator, who recently became a professional and signed with adidas, ran a time of 12.47 at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Stark will join Masai Russell and Alaysha Johnson in Paris.
Before Stark was an Olympian and 2-time NCAA champion, however, she was an AAU gold medalist.
At the 2017 AAU Junior Olympics, the Michigan native placed first in the girls 15-16yo 100mH, clocking a time of 13.86. The then-sophomore at White Lake Lakeland blew past her opponents to win her first title at AAU.
This was Stark's first and only time at the AAU Junior Olympics.
She left her high school career as the 13th-fastest in the 100mH, clocking a wind-legal time of 13.16 while competing for White Lake Lakeland.
