Analysis: Shea competed in just four cross country races this past fall. She won the Champs Northeast Regional before finishing as the runner-up at nationals with a 16:55 personal best, good for a 165 speed rating. 

Later, she finished second at the USATF U20 Cross Country Championships in the 6K and led Team USA to a third-place team finish at the World U20 Cross Country Championships this past February. Shea completed the 6K course in 21:48 and crossed the line as the 10th fastest girl in the world.

As the spring season unfolded, Shea won the two-mile at Brooks PR with a personal best of 9:53. She ended her season with a second-place finish at the NACAC U23 Championships in Costa Rica with a 4:14 in the 1,500m. At the Pan American U20 Championship, she earned two gold medals in the 1,500m and 3K.

Shea finished her season with a 4:37 in the mile to be U.S. No. 4 and 9:53 in the two mile to be U.S. No. 1.
