No. 12: Knoxville Farragut (TN)
- - -
Analysis: The 2022 season was career year for Farragut, which won a Class AAA title in Tennessee, won the NXR Southeast Region and then went on to claim a 9th-place finish at nationals, their first ever at a national championship.
The experience was unrivalred. But what's more, Farragut's squad in 2023 could challenge that experience this fall.
Three runners return from that group, including the team's No. 2 and No. 3, Braden Ebbert and Matteo Tonnos, who together can set the tone for the rest of the pack.
Biggest Question: Real questions will have to be answered at the bottom of the team's line-up.
Farragut's experience and ability up front will allow this team to thrive in races. But what the team will have to answer in the beginning of the season -- and ultimately in those prime meets -- is whether their depth will hold up against the best in state and beyond.
How this team improved over the offseason will go a long way in figuring out whether Farragut is the real deal for the second straight season.
