No. 13: Union Catholic (NJ)

Analysis: A year ago, Christian Brothers Academy dominated Union Catholic at the NJSIAA Group Championships and at the Meet of Championships. There is no argument there.

But in 2023, when you add Jimmy Wischusen into the mix, things are bound to be different.

Wischusen did not run past the date of October 1 a year ago. But a healthy Wischusen means a much more dangerous UC. On top of that fact, five of his teammates are back, and that means Union Catholic is a vastly different program than a year ago. Average. Talent. And surely raw ability. 

And so there's no doubt the UC and CBA rivalry will be back, alive and well, as the Vikings look to reestablish themselves as one of the country's top teams. 

Biggest Question: When will this matchup take place? 

It could happen early on in one of those September invitationals, but we think the real drama will take place at Groups. That will be a defining opportunity for these two teams to go toe-to-toe in the Non-Public A Championships. That happens in November.
