Analysis: Hauser likely wouldn't argue with you about his 2022 season.
It was an ebb and flow.
After finishing second to eventual Champs Sports Nationals champion Kole Mathison at the Nike XC Town Twilight Invitational in October, he finished fourth at states in Missouri and then failed to qualify for either national meet.
Considering Hauser ran 14:38.15 for 5K as a sophomore -- the fastest time in Missouri history -- his expectations were likely a little higher. But lucky for him, he's got one more season left. Many inside Missouri and outside it expect Hauser to rip through courses in 2023.
The Rock Bridge No. 1 clocked times of 4:11.20 in the 1,600m and 8:58.72 in the 3,200m outdoors. He won a Missouri Class 5 title in the latter discipline.
