2022 Notable Finishes: 1st at IHSA Class 3A Championships in 14:46.15 (3-miles); 26th at NXN in 15:28.90; 12th at NXR Midwest; 4th at Richard Spring Invitational in 14:45.00 (3-miles).
Analysis: Bandukwala will be no surprise in 2023.
Not after his Illinois Class 3A victory in November, or his 26th-place finish at NXN, or his wild Illinois Class 3A title in the 1,600m over the spring.
Bandukwala enters his final high school cross country season as a star, and, moreover, as an elite talent capable of making a mark at the national level.
After his ridiculous kick to win the Illinois state title in the 1,600m in May, he has proven that he can win any race and often comes from behind to do just that. His cross country title last November, for instance, was won by just three tenths of a second.
If Bandukwala is near you with 50 meters left, beware.
