Dale Hall Upsets The 1,600m PIAA 3A Field

The biggest surprise of the weekend came from a sneak attack from Hampton's Dale Hall in the PIAA 3A 1,600m.
In his first-ever PIAA Outdoor State Championships, the junior secured the win over Drew Griffith and Ryan Pajak. All three boys set lifetime bests as Hale crossed the finish line inches ahead of Griffith with a 4:08.52 to Butler junior's 4:08.59. Pajak finished in 4:09.64 for third.
Even though Brian DiCola finished fourth in the 1,600m with a 4:10.64, he had a record-breaking performance in the 3,200m on Saturday. The DiColinator closed in 58.11 en route to a new PIAA record of 8:47.39.
