Madison Central's Ciara O'Shea Stars At The Eastern Relays

The Queen of Kentucky scooped up a nifty double over the weekend.
Madison Central senior Ciara O'Shea, who's prepping for The Penn Relays this weekend in Philadelphia, legged past her competition in the 800m for a win in 2:15.20, a new outdoor best, before adding another in the mile, posting a time of 4:54.07.
But no doubt her most impressive win was in the 800m
Seemingly out of it with 100m to go, O'Shea found a little extra muster in the final stretch to nudge past Emma Kendall by seven-hundredths of a second.
The latter race, which featured six girls under five minutes, saw O'Shea take down talented freshman Addison Moore, who followed in 4:56.32.
In the girls 3,200m, dupont Manual's Jessica Secor secured the win in 10:27.60, holding off Ella Johnson, who finished in 10:37.91.
The boys race featured an Ohioan out front, with Hilliard Davidson's Connor Ackley winning the distance in 9:07.51.
He doubled over the weekend, too, also earning the mile victory in 4:18.01. Aidan Lord was second in 9:11.96.
