Analysis: Four returners are back from last year's third-place finishers at the national championships, including All-American Jacob Nenow, who was 19th in that race. Not only will the high school senior lead this team from the front, but he could have an opportunity to chase after an Oregon State Class 6A title after finishing fourth a season ago.
Nenow is one of two athletes to have broken 15 minutes for 5K last year. That also includes Gus Glevenger, who ran 14:59.82 at nationals. Caden Swanson, Joshua Augustine and Owen Firth round out this team for head coach Tom Rothenberger.
Biggest Question: Shoring up gap between the team's top runners and its back pack.
Based on last year's PRs alone, Nenow is more than two minutes out from the team's No 5 runner. In a smaller field that may not matter. But once the competition gears up, all those seconds will count.

Biggest Meet: The state championships.
For Jesuit, we would have to think the state championships will take priority No. 1 for the Crusaders. Lining up against Oregon's top teams -- like nationally ranked Central Catholic, Lincoln, Franklin and Sherwood -- won't be an easy task. Jesuit won states by 17 points a season ago.
