We knew Jaylen Slade was someone special.
At the 2021 VA Showcase, the IMG Academy (FL) sprinter exemplified his talents in the 300m.
In the first 300m of his high school career, Slade blasted to a 32.77 and was .13 off the national high school record set by Brian Herron in 2018.
Herron executed the nation's fastest high school 300m time at the VA Showcase three years earlier.
Justin Braun of Western Central (OH) finished second in this race last year with a 33.24 and will return this season as the top returner for this meet when it comes to the sprints.
