Minneapolis Southwest (MN) High School's Sam Scott made his sophomore season debut in a big way, winning the St. Olaf High School Showcase on Sept. 2.
The sophomore won the meet in 15:35.6.
His time was speed rated at 181; Scott is now one of only four sophomores to have a speed rating over 180.
Scott also won the Hopkins Bauman/Rovn Invitational on September 9, producing a time of 15:22.20 for 5K. That is the fastest time in the state of Minnesota for the 2021 season.
