Sarah Trainor on her way to the national record in the 2K steeplechase at the NYSPHSAA - NY State Champs.

We have been following the progression of senior class athletes from their freshmen, sophomore, and junior years. Today we have the three-year progression of the steeplechase. 

The top senior girl in the 2K steeple is FDR's (NY), Sarah Trainor. The future UNC Tar Heel improved from 6:52.07 in her freshmen year to 6:41.47 her sophomore year and finally 6:29.08 her junior year. Her 6:29.08 is a national record for the 2K steeple. Beavercreek's (OH) Taylor Ewert also saw big improvements in the steeplechase running 7:10.22 her freshmen year to a 6:33.61 her junior year. 

The top senior guy in the 2K steeple is Lucas Lovejoy's (TX) Will Muirhead. The soon to be OK State Pokie ran a 6:56.58 his freshmen year and improved to a 6:03.19 in his junior year.
