Donovan Catholic's (NJ) 2017 graduate Alyssa Wilson set a high standard for her high school career. She was a multiple state and national champion in the shot put, holds the indoor and outdoor state records in the shot put, and is the state record holder in the discus.
As a senior in May 2017, at the Ocean County Championships, Wilson threw 57-1.25 to break the national shot put record previously held by Burke's Raven Saunders. A couple months later, Wilson competed at the Pan-American Junior Athletics Championships, winning gold and breaking her national record on her third throw of 58-1.
Wilson led the country in 2016 in the shot put. During her senior year, she led the nation in the discus with a throw of 182-0 and in the shot put with her national record. Wilson now competes for UCLA.
