Flashback Friday: Alexa Efraimson Tops 800m Charts In 2014

Camas High School (WA) 2015 graduate Alexa Efraimson put on a show in the 800m at Brooks PR in June of 2014. The junior ran her first 400m in 60 seconds, and pulled away from the rest of the field with about 250 meters to go. She crossed the finish line in 2:03.26 ahead of Coe Brown Academy's (NH) Hannah Parker and Central Kitsap High School's (WA) Rose ChristenIn the national rankings, the time also pushed her ahead of Kinkaid School's (TX) Raevyn Rogers, whose season best was 2:04.40. 

But that wasn't Efraimson's only US No. 1 of the year, as she topped the rankings in three other events.

She clocked a 4:07.05 at the Adidas Grand Prix in mid June, a time nearly four seconds faster than Elise Cranny's second-ranked 4:10.95.

At the Washington State meet at the end of May, Efraimson ran a 4:33.29, leading the country by nearly nine seconds, ahead of Northwood High's (CA) Bethan Knight's 4:42.29.

Efraimson also finished her 2014 season as US #1 in the 3000m. At the Arcadia Invitational in April, she stopped the clock at 9:23.24. US #2 was Linn Mar High School's (IA) Stephanie Jenks with a time of 9:24.67.
