Get ready for some fireworks at NXR Southwest.
Traditionally one of the best regions in Nike Cross Nationals qualifying, the meet will play host to five nationally ranked girls teams, three ranked boys teams and five ranked boys and girls individuals who will be vying for individual championships.
Defending boys champion Cole Sprout will return to the Arizona course he last lit a fire on, in September posting the fourth fastest 5K performance in high school history at the Nike Desert Twilight Invitational -- oddly enough, he was second in that race; more oddly, he won't even face the Southwest region athlete who beat him, Leo Daschbach--the Highland High School senior chose to end his season following a slight injury.
