Analysis: Bednar made a move this offseason to the Lawrenceville School (NJ), which could give her some better opportunities to race competition beyond small scale races in New Jersey -- last year, for instance, the program ran at the New Balance Shore Coaches Invitational, where Katelyn Tuohy broke the cross country national record for 5K.
Larger and more competitive races should develop Bednar at an even faster rate than what already took place in 2018. Last year, the freshman for the Hun School of Princeton (NJ) won her first NJISAA Prep State Championship, was fourth at NXR Northeast and became an All-American at Nike Cross Nationals, finishing 12th in 17:29.00.
Bednar is capable of much more in 2019.
