This boys 3200m field is stacked.

We should once again see a large number of guys dipping under the 9-minute 3200m barrier as five athletes were able to accomplish the feat in 2018. This year's field is highlighted in terms of resume by 2018 Foot Locker Nationals runner up, and 2019 New Balance Nationals Indoor Mile Champion,  Knoxville Catholic's (TN) Jake Renfree

Renfree comes into this field with a PR of 9:13.90 but that was from the 2018 Dogwood Track Classic where he finished 8th. Watch for his PR to dip below 9-minutes this weekend. He is also entered in the mile and 800m on

The top returner and highlight of the field in terms of best PR is Henry County (TN) High School's Silas Winders. Winders who is a year younger than Renfree might not have the resume Renfree has developed but there should be no doubt that he will be a contender for the win in this race. The junior holds the best 3200m PR in the filed with a 9:01.23 from the Hoka One One Postal Nationals - Super Local race this past fall. He also ran a 9:01.85 to place sixth in this meet in 2018.  Winders will also be the top returner and look to possibly one-up his older brother Titus Winders who placed second last year behind Lakota East's (OH) Dustin Horter.

There are at least three other guys who we should be on the lookout for here as possible sub-9 minute 3200 guys and title contenders. Those guys are Howland's (OH) Vincent Mauri who ran a PR of 9:04.59 at last years OHSAA State Track and Field ChampionshipBeech Senior High School's (TN) David Ahlmeyer who ran 9:03.90 to finish 7th last year at this meet, and Christian Academy of Indiana's Caleb Futter who finished fifth indoor's at the loaded GVSU - Elite 3200 with a 9:03.97.
