The girls 200m race looks to be a midwest matchup between two ladies from Indiana. Brebeuf Jesuit Prep School's Semira Killebrew (IN) will face off against North Central High School's (IN) Ramiah Elliott. The duo has competed in the same meets together before but mostly at AAU and summer track meets and not in a head to head race.
Killebrew who is a senior has run faster times but the young up and coming Elliott is right there on her heels. This summer both athletes competed at the USATF National Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships in their respective age groups and both PR'd in the 200m. Killebrew clocked a 23.73 while Elliott who just entered her freshmen year clocked a 23.84 in her respective age group.
This battle will in a way be one of Indiana's top sprinters against one of the state's top up and coming sprinters. The two are the only athletes in the field entered with seed times sub-24-seconds.
