We caught up with Natick High School's (MA) Grace Connolly for one of her first speed workouts of the indoor season. Connolly ran a ladder workout of (800m-600m-400m-200m)x2 with 3-munites rest between sets.
The Stanford signee currently has the top 2-mile time in the nation with her 10:18.73 from the first Bay State Conference meet back on December, 13. She competed in that meet only off her base mileage from cross country which -- for her -- had ended only a weekend earlier.
In this workout, she prepared to take on the national competition in the mile at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix. In Boston, at the Grand Prix -- which was just last weekend -- Connolly ran 4:51.78 for a US No. 6 performance in the mile.
