Gardner after his 1600m win at the Utah State Track and Field Championships
Springville Utah's Grant Gardner is one of the top returning cross country athletes in the nation this year.
During the 2017 season, Gardner finished 13th at the NXN Southwest Region meet helping his team earn a spot on the line at NXN. At the national meet, Gardner finished 34th. In 2016 he was 17th in the southwest region and 47th at nationals. At the 2017 Utah State XC Championships Gardner was runner-up behind eventual national champion Aidan Troutner of Timpview.
On the track in 2018 Gardner ran 8:58.14 in the 3200m to finish 13th at Arcadia and 4:10.90 in the 1600m to win the Utah State Track and Field Championships title.
