Oakland Park Northeast (FL) junior Jan'Taijah Ford REALLY wanted to win the 400m. It took a dive at the line to earn her first victory at Brooks PR.
In the process, she set a meet record of 53.06 seconds, surpassing her second-place performance in 2016 when she ran 53.83 seconds.
Ford narrowly escaped a strong push from CIF champion Tierra Robinson-Jones, who was only getting stronger in the final meters and finished second in 53.10 seconds.
Provo (UT) junior Meghan Hunter was third in 53.48.
