The Weekend Rundown: Loudoun Valley Lives Up To The Hype In First Meet

Welcome Fayetteville-Manlius (New York) High back into the mix for 2017.

The best girls team in the nation looked like it on Saturday at the V-V-S Invitational in Verona, taking the Varsity I title and overall girls merge by scoring 32 points across a 94 second spread.

Sophomore Claire Walters led FM with a time of 18:14.3, winning the Varsity 1 race, while her teammates went 3-4-5-7 and 8-12-15-18.

There's a solid corps, and then there's remarkable depth. FM, winners of 10 of the last 11 NXN titles, seem to have the depth yet again to compete on a national stage.

Beyond Walters, sophomore Phoebe White (18:46.00), senior Sophie Ryan (18:47.90), senior Palmer Madsen (19:23.80) and senior Rebecca Walters (19:40.2) rounded out the scoring five.
