Athlete: Bailey Hertenstein

Year: Senior, Class of 2018

School: Riverview, FL

Analysis: Hertenstein finished 20th at Foot Locker Nationals, seventh at Foot Locker South, and won her second straight FHSAA class 4A championship -- the state's largest group -- with a winning time of 17:40.36. Outside of the postseason, Hertenstein was dominant, finishing first in every single regular season meet. She ran a PB of 17:32.14 at the flrunners.com Invitational. 

In the spring, Hertenstein punctuated her fall with state titles in the 1600m (4:54.55) and the 3200m (10:30.89), yet again producing a quality campaign that saw little defeat. She won every single 1600m and 3200m she entered, though finished second at Region 4A-2 and third at states in the 800m.
