Athlete: Libby Davidson
Year: 2017
School: E.C. Glass, VA
Analysis: Libby Davidson is one of the most consistent distance runners in the nation. The rising senior at E.C. Glass High School placed sixth at Foot Locker Nationals as a sophomore in 2014, then again as a junior last fall despite a slower build-up to San Diego than the year before.
On the track this spring, Davidson set PBs across all race distances, including 10:14.97 for runner-up honors in the two mile at New Balance Nationals Indoor, 9:33.52 for third place in the 3K at the Penn Relays Carnival, 4:53.29 for the full mile, and 16:40.97 in the 5K to earn All-American honors at New Balance Nationals Indoor. Davidson often raced against fellow Virginian Weini Kelati, who dominated the national scene last year with a Foot Locker Nationals title and four wins at New Balance Nationals. Without Kelati in the mix, look for Davidson to rise to the challenge of being Virginia's top distance harrier.
