Athlete: Annie Hill
Year: 2018
School: Glacier, MT
Analysis: Annie Hill will contend for the national title in whichever event she chooses to pursue. The rising junior at Glacier High School in Montana has opted for Foot Locker the past two years, where she placed 22nd as a sophomore and eighth as a freshman. She entered last year's championship with an undefeated record, including several wins over Christina Aragon, and was a consistent sub-17 minute runner for three miles, the preferred distance in Montana. She set the state meet course record at 16:30.70.
On the track, Hill won the Brooks PR mile in a new PB of 4:41.52 and the Nike Elite camp mile at the U.S. Olympic Trials. She was also runner-up at the Arcadia Invitational in a new PB of 10:14.14 for 3200m. Hill is an aggressive runner who can keep pace with anyone in the nation and hasn't shied away from stating goals that include bringing the Montana state record down below 16 minutes this season.
