1. Ellen Brooks over Katie Rainsberger
This was the first race for Brooks since finishing 5th at the Montana cross country state meet, and her first track race since finishing 5th in the 2015 Montana outdoor 800. But she was sharp enough to knock off an NXN champion. The NXN champion was magnanimous after the race.
