National Weekend Rundown: 4 Things to Know

1. Pennsylvanians Make an Assault on The Record Books

Two Pennsylvania athletes marked themselves as the #9 performer in the history of their respective events. And they're both just juniors. Chanel Brissett (watch her race above) won the 60 meter hurdles at the Kevin Dare Invitational in 8.28 seconds, a time that ties Tonea Marshall for the #9 performer in high school history and the #1 time in the US this winter. Her time broke a state record previously held by her former Cheltenham teammate Ciara Leonard.

Jordan Geist (watch his throw below) threw 69-11.5 in Youngstown, Ohio, coming up just half and inch shy of the 70-foot mark and increasing his PR by five inches. The Knoch junior is still the #9 performer in high school history and is now just 4¾ inches short of Ben Glauser's #8 spot.
