Saucony Flo50 No. 5 ranked Garek Bielaczyc of East High School, Utah continues to run in his own league, this weekend blasting U.S. No. 1 time of 14:20 for three miles at an astounding nearly 6,000 feet of elevation in Cedar City, Utah. The nation-leading time comes just one week after blowing away the competition at the competitive Roy Griak Invitational in Minnesota.
Can Bielaczyc be stopped?
He finished 43 seconds ahead of runner-up McKade Steffenson of Canyon View, Utah, who improved his time from 16:00 last year to 15:03.9 in 2015. Freshman Grant Gardner of Springville, Utah was third in 15:14.
Julie Sumison of Springville won the girls race in 17:53 to defend her title from last year.
