Carter Blunt capped a breakout junior year by winning the New Balance Nationals Outdoor Two Mile in 8:58.03. He also placed runner-up in the Mile (4:10.74) in Greensboro, N.C. Blunt, a rising senior at Frisco Independence High School in Texas, is one of the top returning cross country runners in the nation, having earned All-American honors at both Foot Locker Nationals (12th) and Nike Cross Nationals (20th) last fall. He blogs for MileSplit this summer about his weekly training as he looks for his third consecutive Texas State XC Championship crown and another individual national title.
