MileSplit All-American Team - Boys 200m Dash Presented by New Balance
Noah Lyles pulled off two huge post season victories in the 200m at both NBNO and the USATF Junior Championship meet running a U.S. No. Three All-Time 20.18!
1.Noah Lyles (Alexandria, VA - Jr.) - Lyles not only has the top 100m time in the country, he also owns the fastest 200m mark. He ran a U.S. No. 3 All-Time 20.18 to win the USATF Junior Championship meet. Only one weekend before that, he won both the 100m (10.21) dash and 200m (20.54) dash at NBNO. This guy has been on a roll all post-season and it will be exciting to see what he can to represent Team USA at the Pan Am Games in late July.
2. Michael Norman (Vista Murrieta, CA - Jr.) - Norman owned the fastest 200m time in the country all season long with his U.S. No. 6 All-Time 20.30 from the California State Meet. At USATF Jr. Nationals, Lyles and Norman rewrote the all-time record books with U.S. No. 3 All-Time 20.18 and U.S. No. 5 All-Time 20.24.
3. Ryan Clark (Banneker, GA - Sr.) - The senior had several impressive performances, starting out with winning both the 100m (10.26) and 200m (20.75) at the Taco Bell Classic and going on to win the Georgia state meet 100m (10.26) and 200m (20.79) dash. He then carried that momentum through to the post season, winning the Caribbean Scholastic Invitational 100m and placing second in the 200m at NBNO in 20.58. The senior capped off his season racing at USATF Junior Championships, placing third in both the 100m (10.23) and 200m (20.46) dash.
4. Maxwell Willis (Bowie, MD - Jr.) - The four-time state champion swept all the sprinting events this year at the Maryland State Championship Meet. He went on to run the fourth-fastest wind-aided 200m time in the country this year at the Great Southwest Classic with his 20.55 (+2.6). To round out his post-season, Willis competed at NBNO, placing fifth in the 100m (10.58) and third in the 200m (21.26). This past week, he competed in all three sprinting events at the USATF World Youth Trials. The junior took first in the 200m running a 21.21.
5. Gerald Mills (Fort Bend Marshall, TX -Sr.) - The senior has the forth fastest wind-legal time in the country this year with his 20.79, which he ran to place fifth at the USATF Junior Championship meet. He was the runner-up at the Texas State meet in the 200m (21.31), placing just behind teammate Shamon Ehiemua. Mills finished off his season running the 200m dash at the USATF Junior Championships, where he finished fifth with his PR of 20.79.
6. Shamon Ehiemua (Fort Bend Marshall, TX - So.) - The sophomore's most impressive victory came at the Texas State meet, where he just beat out teammate Mills to take the 200m dash running a U.S. No. 5 20.89. The sophomore also finished fourth in the 100m dash at Texas Relays earlier in the season, where he ran a wind-aided 10.52.
7. Josephus Lyles (Alexandria, VA - Jr.) - Josephus finished runner-up behind his brother in the 200m dash at the Virginia State Meet in 21.02, but he won the 400m dash in 47.41. The junior had a great post-season, placing first in the 200m dash (21.16) at USATF World Youth Trials.
8. Chauncey Gardner (Cocoa, FL - Jr.) - Gardner was the Florida State champ in both the 100m (10.38) and 200m (21.12). He capped off his junior season running at the Golden South Classic, where he placed third in the 100m (10.66) and second in the 200m (21.36). His time of 21.02 from his Florida Regional meet ranks U.S. No. Seven.
