Saucony Elite 50 Team Girls | Week 7

*Editor's Note: The Saucony Elite 50 refers to the top-50 teams in the country (25 boys and 25 girls).

Mt. SAC and the first crazy wave of State Championships across the nation made for quite the busy weekend for XC!  And what a weekend it was!

At Mt. SAC #5 Simi Valley won over an amazing #9 Great Oak squad, winning the Team Sweepstakes division with 72 points to 73 points.  They posted the fastest average of 17:55 while Great Oak was 17:59.  

US#1 Davis (UT) rolled over the competition in their state championship meet, winning the 5A division for the third straight year with a score of 27 points to 90 for American Fork.  This was perhaps their strongest team to date and certainly ranks with the top All-Time team scores in UT history.  Just how good is this team get?  We'll leave that to the course in Portland to decide.  #2 Unionville (PA) had quite the battle with #20 Pennsbury but came away victorious in their state qualifier race by a score of 39 to 56.  

#3 Carmel (IN) won their semi-state race in a close 52 to 61 battle with #21 Hamilton Southeastern (IN).  #12 Bozeman (MT) dominated the Class AA action at the Montana state champs for the team win with an 18:18 average.  #8 Monarch dominated Colorado 5A states over #19 Fort Collins and a #24 Cherry Creek squad who had an ailing Jordyn Colter.  #7 Seaholm (MI), #11 Naperville North (IL) and #15 Northville (MI) dominated with low scores in their regional meets as well.
