On June 4, 2015 Grant Fisher of Grand Blanc, Mich., became the seventh high schooler to break the coveted 4:00 mile mark at the Nike Festival of Miles.
Fisher stayed patient throughout the race, coming through the halfway point at 2:00 and 3:00 at the bell lap. He moved swiftly passed the field and kicked hard to finish third in 3:59.38 behind Jordan McNamara in 3:58.81 and Tyler Pennel in 3:58.99.
What is even more remarkable is that Fisher matched Matthew Maton's time of 3:59.38 from this season's Oregon Twilight. This was the first season in history that more than one high school boy broke 4:00 in the mile.
