National records and personal bests set by BVI athletes at Pan Am Juniors Jason Byrne Jul 28, 2011

  Jevonte Croal placed fifth in the Long Jump and Kanishque Todman established a Heptathlon National Record while Raheem “Ras” Taylor set an 800m personal best, highlighting the British Virgin Islands’ performances when competition wrapped up at the Pan Am Junior Track and Field Championships in Miramar, Florida on Sunday. (via BVI News)  

Tyson 2nd at Pan Am Jr Games - 11.39! MileSplit Staff Jul 27, 2011

Recent Western Branch High School graduate Keilah Tyson matched her 11.39 state record performance from the AAA State Championships in June with a runner-up finish (and 1.7 wind legal time) in the finals of the 100 meter dash at the Pan Am Junior Championships last weekend. Tyson made the U.S. team for the Pan Am Junior Games held in Miramar, Florida orginally as an alternate replacement from one of the original team qualifiers at the US Junior Nationals. Diamond Dixon Competes for USA at Pan American Junior Games Jul 25, 2011

Last weekend Kansas sprinter Diamond Dixon represented the United States by taking part in the Pan American Junior Games in Miramar, Fla.. The sophomore-to-be nabbed a silver medal in the 400 meter dash while also helping Team USA's 4X400-meter relay team take home gold.

National champ Eddie Owens placed second at the Pan Am Junior Championships in the 3,000-meter steeplechase Sunday at the Ansin Sports Complex in Mirmar, Fla. Owens, a recent graduate of Packer Collegiate in Brooklyn, crossed the line in 9:07.11.

MIRAMAR, Fla. - Nicholls State University sophomore javelin thrower Jaimee Springer staked her claim as one of the top young javelin throwers in the western hemisphere on Sunday as the Llyodminster, Alberta, Canada native claimed fifth place at the 2011 Pan American Games with a throw of 43.51 m (142 ft. 9.0 in.).

Cal's Monte Corley captured the men's 400-meter hurdles at the Pan American Junior Championships Saturday in Miramar, Fla., with a personal-best time of 51.21 seconds. The mark broke the Cal freshman record of 51.31 set by Larry Cowling in 1979.
