Christopher Columbus (FL) senior Amando Del Valle won the NXN Southeast region individual title with a time of 15:14.8.
The small state of Delaware had an impressive showing in the girls race at NXN Southeast with 3 girls among the top 7 individuals.
Loyola Blakefield (MD) senior Matt Jabolinski qualified for NXN individually with a runner-up finish of 15:18.5 at the Southeast Regional.
Parkview senior Alec Klassen qualified individually for NXN with a 3rd place finish of 15:19.5.
Walter Johnson (MD) boys just missed an NXN berth as they lost out to Brookwood for 2nd place on a 6th runner tiebreaker.
Tatnall (DE) senior Tyler Tate qualified individually for NXN with a 5th place time of 15:22.8.
The Tatnall (DE) girls continued their streak of NXN berths as they repeated as Southeast Regional champions.
Sherwood (MD) senior Jackson Reams won the open boys race at NXN Southeast with a time of 15:51.
Marvin Ridge (NC) junior Caitlyn Colo won the open girls race in a time of 19:44.
Western Albemarle (VA) senior Derek Armstrong just missed qualifying individually for NXN in 6th place with a time of 15:24.
Cabell Midlan (WV) sophomore Jacob Burcham became the first NXN individual qualifier from his state in meet history with a 5th place finish at the Southeast Regional.
Hidden Valley (VA) girls send two individual qualifiers to NXN with Annie LeHardy (2nd, 17:24) and Haley Cutright (4th, 17:39).
Green Hope girls became the first girls team from state of North Caroline to qualify for NXN with their second place finish and team score of 106 points at the Southeast Regional.
Brookwood (GA) boys will return to the Nike Cross Nationals after taking 2nd in the Southeast Regional on a 6th runner tiebreaker.
Midlothian (VA) boys won the NXN Southeast team title with a team score of 168 points and team average of 15:54.
With Armando del Valle wining the NXN Southeast championship, Florida won three out of four individual regional championships this weekend. Del Valle was favored and got the 15:14 victory, his second time winning a big meet on the course this year after winning Great American there in October. Unfortunately, things did not fare as well for either of Florida's boys teams who were projected to advance to nationals.
Cabell Midland's sophomore Jacob Burcham finished 5th today in 15:23.1 at the Nike Cross Nationals Southeast Regional held at WakeMed Soccer Complex in Cary, North Carolina. Burcham qualified for the Nike Cross Nationals that will be held on December 4th in Portland, Oregon at the Portlands Meadows 5K course. The Midlothian boys won the Nike Cross Southeast Regionals, while the Hidden Valley girls will be sending a pair of individuals in Annie LeHardy and Haley Cutright to nationals with second and fourth place finishes respectively. Two Virginia schools finished among the top four in the championship girls' team standings, but outside of the top two automatic places with Hidden Valley taking third and Midlothian placing fourth. Black Friday is known as the day of notorious shopping sells across the state of Kentucky. This does hold true, but for the running community it is a night and morning of traveling to North Carolina. For most areas of the state it takes close to twelve hours to arrive in Charlotte for Foot Locker South or Cary for NXN Southeast. Kentucky’s best is split on the boys side between the races, whereas the girls all headed to Charlotte this year.
