The USATF National Jr. Olympic Championship meet will take place in Wicthia, KS @ Cessna Stadium-Witchia State University from July 26th-31st. There will be Five Maine athletes competing in the Nationals, Zachary Haskell of Gray (Youth-HJ), Jack Peters (Young Men Decathlon), Christina Smith of Poland (Youth 800m, 1500m, & 3000m), Seraphina Provenzano of Holden (Youth 800m) Hope Kohtala of Poland (Youth-200m & HJ), & Kate Hall of Casco (Youth- LJ, 100m & 200m. The National Junior Olympic Track and Field Championships have barely begun and Colorado has already made its mark.

Although there were plenty of events today, Colorado's placers were relatively few and far between.
Several Colorado athletes advance to semifinals or finals on Friday.
And so the outdoor track and field season comes to closure...
Christian Buckley of Poca West Virginia competing in the youth division (13-14 year olds) pulled off a double All-American feat in the discus and shot put at the USATF National Junior Olympic Outdoor Track & Field Championships held at Wichita State University in Wichita, Kansas. Buckley threw a personal best 157' 8" in the discus to earn 4th place and heaved the shot put 44' 10.25" to place 7th and another personal best. The top 8 places in the National meet earn All-American status.
