Meet Information

Union Commonwealth University is excited to partner with Whitley County to host the inaugural UCU Middle School Track Meet. The event will take place on April 28th at the newly constructed track on the Whitley County campus.

A team entry fee of $65.00 will be required per boys or girls team. Schools bringing both a boys and girls team will pay a combined total of $100.00. Please make checks payable to Union Commonwealth University Track and Field and submit payment upon arrival at the meet.


All standard track and field events will be contested, with the exception of Pole Vault, the 4x800 Meter Relay, and the 300 Meter Hurdles. All field events will be held at the track facility. Teams may enter an unlimited number of athletes per event; however, each athlete may compete in up to four events total.

Timer/Entries - xxxx will serve as the timer and entries should be done via Milesplit.

Admission - There will be a 5.00 admission fee for spectators.

Field Events - 5:30

Running Events - 6:00 (We will follow a rolling schedule to keep the meet moving efficiently.)

Concessions Full concessions will be available at the area behind the stands.

Meet Guidelines

Each school may enter unlimited athletes per event and one relay team per event. All participating schools must have a certified KHSAA representative present, and KHSAA rules will be strictly enforced. No entry additions will be permitted on the day of the meet. All entries must be submitted through MileSplit; hytek rosters will not be accepted.

Additional Information

  • Only athletes actively competing in events are allowed in the competition areas.
  • All non-athletes or coaches must remain outside the fence area at all times.
  • To prevent congestion all athletes must warm up outside the fence. Only three coaches for each team is allowed on the field inside the track.
  • Athletes should use the designated entrances to access the track and must not climb over the fence. Jumping the fence may result in disqualification from the meet.
  • Tents should be set up outside the track on the back stretch or along the brick wall on the shot and discus side of the track. There will be a gate for athletes and coaches to enter the track, but they should remain mindful of other athletes and ongoing events.

    All entries must be submitted by one week before the race date (April 24th).
