Meet Information
PLEASE READ ALL INFORMATION LISTED BELOW.
First and foremost: Not all of our meets this year will be open to unlimited entries so be sure to check the requirements when registering athletes. From a hosting standpoint, it is just too much to do week in and week out. We always end up with a ton of entries leaving before running their events causing us to essentially stop the meet to correct our paperwork. This will help to eliminate that problem by speeding up the meet. For the meets that have restrictions, we will have elementary events. Those are as follows:
- 800m
- 100m
- 400m
- Long Jump
A few changes from last year's meets:
- WE WILL BE OFFERING POLE VAULT THIS SEASON AT PHS. THIS IS A NEW EVENT FOR US TO OFFER WHICH MEANS IT IS A NEW EVENT FOR OUR VOLUNTEERS TO RUN. PLEASE BE PATIENT.
- KEEP YOUR ATHLETES OFF THE POLE VAULTING EQUIPMENT. IT IS NOT A JUNGLE GYM.
- THE INFIELD WILL BE CLOSE TO THE PUBLIC. WE HAVE MOVED OUR TIMER TO THE INFIELD AND MUST KEEP HIS SYSTEM CLEAR OF ALL DISRUPTIONS. UNLESS YOU ARE A COACH OR A VOLUNTEER WORKING AN EVENT, YOU WILL NOT BE PERMITTED ON THE INFIELD. VOLUNTEERS WILL BE IDENTIFIED BY AN ORANGE VEST. WE ARE DOING THIS TO PROTECT OUR ATHLETES AND PREPARE THEM FOR POST-SEASON/INVITATIONAL MEET POLICIES.
- ONLY ATHLETES WHO ARE WARMING UP FOR/COMPETING IN AN EVENT ARE PERMITTED IN THE INFIELD. THE INFIELD IS NOT FOR TEAM CAMPS AND IS NOT A HANGOUT. WARM UP, COMPETE, LEAVE THE INFIELD.
- ATHLETES WILL ENTER THE FIELD VIA THE GATE BY THE 100M START LINE AND EXIT THROUGH THE TUNNEL. (marked on the map below)
- THERE WILL BE A WATER STATION LOCATED IN THE TUNNEL.
- DISRESPECT AND FOUL LANGUAGE WILL NOT BE TOLORATED. ANY ATHLETE DEEMED TO BE IN VIOLATION OF BOTH OF THESE WILL BE DISQUALIFIED FROM THE COMPETING EVENT.
- DO NOT LINGER NEAR THE TIMING TENT HOPING TO GET RESULTS. YOU WILL NOT ONLY DISTRACT OUR TIMER BUT POTENTIALLY CAUSE THE MEET TO COME TO A STOP. YOU WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE THE INFIELD FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE MEET. (COACHES INCLUDED) YOU WILL GET RESULTS WHEN THEY ARE SENT OUT.
All events will be seeded and lanes will be assigned. All running events will check in at the clerking area located in the infield near the timing tent. We do this to help speed up the clerking process. Any athlete who is registered and does not have time for that event will be in the slower heat. We will run all running events Slowest--->Fastest
Once registration is closed, it will not be reopened. We will ONLY allow for substitutions at the line but not additions. Whoever you are substituting will run for the athlete whose place they are taking. Even if it is the fastest heat. If you have an athlete miss 3rd call for any event, they will be scratched. Inform your athletes of this rule.
The picture below will help with the location of things. Please adhere to these locations. The area labeled in blue is where the busses for PHS park. Anyone who parks here will be towed. Parking is labeled in light blue.
Coaches, inform your parents that if they are not parked in a parking spot they will be towed. We had issues last year with people parking and blocking fire lanes. This is a non-negotiable.
All teams will have buses enter at the north end of the complex and unload at the gate (yellow dot) between the equipment shed and the bleachers.
We will be offering a full meet of competition minus throws.
Track will open for warm-ups at 5:30
Coaches meeting will be at 5:45
Track will close at 5:50
Meet will begin at 6:00
