34rd Annual West Geauga Kurt Frankel Invitational

                                                             West Geauga High School

                                                             Saturday, April 26,  2025

West Geauga High School is proud to host the 34th Annual West Geauga Kurt Frankel Invitational. 

The meet is in honor and in memory of Kurt Frankel, a 1986 West Geauga graduate who was tragically 

killed in the summer of 2011. Kurt ran Cross-country and Track at West Geauga and still holds the 800M record (1:53.96) and is number 10 on the All-Time XC record board (16:56-5K)

The Girls and Boys team entry fee will be $200 individual team or $375 for both Boys and Girls..

 Please enter your athletes on MileSplit.

 Entry window opens Monday, April 21 at 8:00 AM and closes Friday, April 25 at Noon.

 Only emergency scratches/changes will be made on Saturday, and no re-seeding will take place

9:00 AM :Field Events

2 individuals from each team for entries

Event Order:

Boys Shot- in flights, 2 attempts, 1 attempt, 9 best go to Finals 

Girls Disc- in flights, 2 attempts, 1 attempt, 9 best go to Finals   

Girls Long Jump- 9:00-10:00 AM (open pit) best of 4 jumps

Boys Long Jump- 10:00-11:00 PM (open pit) best of 4 jumps

Boys High Jump- 9:00 AM- starting height  42 for girls and 5 for boys 

-2 increments to 52 for girls, 6 for boys, then 1 increments

 -5 alive Format

*starting heights may be adjusted after entries are submitted

NO POLE VAULT 

**If an athlete has to leave a field event to compete in another event, we will allow 10 minutes from

      the finish of that event to return, if they do not return in 10 minutes, they will be scratched

        The sprint events will be assigned fastest heat last

Participating Teams:

Andrews Osborne Academy, Bard Early College, Bristol, Cornerstone Christian Academy, Hawken, Kenston, Wickliffe, Western Reserve, West Geauga

Bus Parking: Buses should park in the middle school parking lot north of the stadium.

Restrooms: outside the track next to concession stand

Awards:

Team Champion and Runner-Up trophies will be awarded to the top 2 Girls and Boys teams.                                                                                                                                    

Plaques will be awarded for first place, medals for second and third places.

Timing: All running events will be using a F.A.T. system

Team Scoring:  will be to 8 places (10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1)

Concessions:  will be available throughout the meet.

Programs:  will be available including heat sheets for spectators

Coach and Official Hospitality Room:  Will be set up in the HS cafeteria and open for donuts and coffee and then lunch at 11:30am
