Meet Information
Coaches,
Id like to thank you all again for your interest in participating in the Southern Acadiana Middle School Track and Field Series. We look forward to hosting you this spring and are committed to creating an event that is valuable and meaningful to each of your programs. Below you will find quite a bit of information about the series and what you can expect.
Registration takes place via Milesplit. You can find a link to register your teams here. The registration deadline is Thursday (prior to the meet) at 11:00pm. Registration is open to any Acadiana area middle school.
Gates will open for teams at 8:00 am. Field events will begin at 9:00 and running will begin at 11:00
Tickets for your spectators, as well as our concession stand, are cashless. Tickets can be purchased at bit.ly/arcatix. Adult tickets are $7 and student tickets are $5.
Our high school athletes have a significant role in making our event successful. Each event is overseen by one of our coaches, but our athletes are heavily involved. This helps them to develop as well. If you have any issues at an event, please speak to the adult in charge.
In the sprint hurdles, both boys and girls will contest the event at 100 meters. In the 5th/6th grade division, all hurdles will be placed at 30. In the 7th/8th grade division, hurdle height is 30 for girls and 33 for boys.
The 300m hurdles will only be contested at the 7th/8th grade level. 30 will be the hurdle height.
Schools are allowed up to three entries per event, and two relay teams. Athletes may participate in up to four events.
Each meet in the series will be scored by gender and division. Results will be shared with coaches after the meet has completed. The culminating meet of the series will be scored as a championship event, and individual and team awards will be distributed at this event.
