Entry Notes:  You must list alternates as #5, #6, #7, or #8  on your relays. 

Also, GHSA rules only allow athletes to participate in any combination of 4 total events including relays. However, an athlete can be listed as alternates in any of or all of the relays, but that athlete can only compete in 4 of their events.

Grievance/Games Committee

All head coaches minus the two head coaches of the disputing teams of the  grievance at hand. All grievances must be presented to the Meet Director & Clerk of course to determine if a vote by the committee is necessary. If the grievance is concerning an issue within a field event, then the grievance must be presented before that round of field events has completed. If the grievance is concerning an issue within a running event, then the grievance must be presented to the Meet Director & Clerk of course before the following event has ended. For example, a coach cannot file a grievance about an incident that occurred in event #1 after event #3 has begun.

General Information

  1. Admission is $5.

  2. The Track has eight lanes, is all-weather, and utilizes FAT timing.

  3. Shot Put and Discus areas are concrete.

  4. Starting blocks will be provided, and you may bring your own.

  5. Shots and Discus will be inspected, weighed, and marked before Coaches meeting.

  6. Each school may enter three athletes in each individual event and one relay team.

  7. All heats and flights will be set according to times, distances, and heights from entry form. Please be honest.  Teams will be split in the pre-lims.

  8. All teams are required to remain off the infield during the running events.  If athletes/patrons are on the infield without permission they may be disqualified.  

  9. We will be scoring 8 places.

  10. Champion and runner up trophies will be presented at the conclusion of the meet.  Individual Medals will be presented during the meet.

  11. All GHSA rules and regulations will be followed.

  12. If a field event has 10 or more participants, then the participants will be divided into two groups (Two Flights).  Flight participants will receive 4 attempts.  The Top 4 overall marks qualify for State Sectionals.  If there are 9 or less participants, then the field event will be one flight with 4 attempts, and the Top 4 marks qualify for State Sectionals.

  13. Spectators will only be allowed on the track during field events.

  14. Results will be posted on Milesplit Live  on the Gold Medal Sponsor board near the concession stand.

  15. The control tent is for timers and pickers only.  No coach should enter unless summoned over the PA system.

  16. Hip numbers are to be placed on the side of the left hip.

  17. Athletes competing in events held at the same time should report to both the Field Judge and the Clerk of the Course.  Running events take precedence over field events and vertical events take precedence over horizontal events.

Relay Teams

Relay teams including alternates can consist of 8 athletes. A relay team can consist of any combination of 4 out of the 8 total athletes. There is only one relay team allowed per team per relay event.

Bus Parking

Buses should drop off their athletes and park across the street at the Heard County Covered Arena. There will be a golf cart that shuttles the driver back to the track. Please inform the meet director or clerk of course if a driver needs shuttled back before the meet has concluded for that day.  

Check-In

  1. Check in will be located in the middle of the infield. 

Implement Weigh-In

Implements will be weighed in near the discus cage at a weigh station before the coaches' meeting.

REQUIREMENTS: Boys shot= 12lbs min     Girls shot= 4kg min    Boys discus= 1.6kg min         Girls discus= 1kg min

Team Areas

  1. Tents are only allowed in the grassy areas around the track that are not near the shot put or jumping pits..  

  2. Tents are not allowed in the stands.
