44th ANNUAL (HURONS ARTIE MILLER MEMORIAL)
TRACK & FIELD INVITATIONAL APRIL 26, 2025
FIELD EVENTS: 10:00am, RUNNING FINALS: 11:00am (see event order)
(NO RUNNING PRELIMS)
Admission: $8.00 for adult, $5 for student/senior citizens
BOYS & GIRLS TEAMS ENTERED: BENEDICTINE (boys only), EDISON, ELYRIA, ELYRIA CATHOLIC, HURON, LORAIN HS, LUTHERAN WEST, MADISON COMPREHENSIVE HS, SANDUSKY, ST. MARYS CC, WAUSEON, & WILLARD. Teams subject to change.
Check in: 8:30am-9:30am in the middle room of the stadium (coaches only) for packets, scratches, implement weigh in and breakfast. No coaches meeting needed unless something comes up. If you have any problems or questions during the meet, please talk to the officials or the meet manager Bill Scott (at the PV) during or directly after the meet. thanks
DO NOT BRING YOUR OWN STARTING BLOCKS, WE WILL BE USING OUR NEW BLOCKS. THE ONLY EXCEPTION WILL BE STAND UP BLOCKS.
1. Enter your 2 participants for each event on OHMILESPLIT this year. Be aware of the closing date and scratch
date. Remember there are no prelims in the running events. One relay only per event this year.
2. Turn in all scratches when you arrive or on OHMILESPLIT by Friday morning. Lane assignments will be handed out when you arrive, unless we are able to send them by Fri. night.
3. Shot and Discus 3 throws, top 9 to the finals.
4. No tape on the track or runways. Use chalk, tennis balls or some other marker off the runway.
5. Jumps: a) Long jump - 4 jumps (open pit 1.5 hours, boys & girls). No finals. There is only one pit.
b) High Jump bar starts at 4 2 for girls 5 4 for boys, moving 2 at a time. Subject to change.
c) Pole Vault bar starts at 9 0-boys, 6 0-girls, moving 6 at a time. Subject to change.
All races will be timed using FAT, sections will be set up slow too fast.
NO RUNNING PRELIMS, ALL FINALS
6. 100, 200, 400m dash, (100m, 110m and 300m hurdles) with the last section, the fastest, involving 8 participants.
7. Relays: a) 3200m - lanes through two turns then California exchange (blue exchanges)
b) 400m- yellow exchange zones - lanes the entire race
c) 800m- red then yellow exchange zones- lanes the entire race
d) 1600m blue exchange zones- First exchange in lanes, second runner cuts after the curve, then California exchange for third and fourth runner.
8. Only coaches may be on the infield (exception-high jump). Everyone else must be on the outside of the track or in the stands. THE FINISH LYNX TIMING DEVICE WILL BE IN USE. ITS IMPORTANT THAT THOSE NOT COMPETING STAY OUT OF THE INFIELD and NOT CROSS THE FOOTBALL FIELD.
9. Spikes - 1/4 or 1/8 only. Track spikes will be checked by the Clerk of Course or event judge when they check in.
10. All running contestants must report to the clerk of course at the southwest end of the track (across from the concession stand) and field event contestants must report to the field event judge.
11. Remind your competitors in a field event that he or she must tell the event judge that they are checking out for a running event. Depending on the event call, it is the officials discretion when they leave. Competitors must return in a timely fashion.
12. Awards will be handed out to the athletes at the podium on the infield directly after the race or event, weather
permitting. The top 8 will be called to the podium.. If your athlete does not show up to the podium their awards will be at the awards table out on the field after the meet for coaches to pick up.

DETERMINATION OF OUTSTANDING ATHLETE:
1. Points earned in individual events/divide relay points by 4(four).
2. Add 10 additional points for new invite record, add 2.5 points for new relay record.
3. Add 5 additional points for tying an invite record, add 1 point for relays.
Officials: -starters, Mike Martin- clerk of course, -long jump, -high jump, Bill Scott-pole vault, -Discus, Stephanie Pope-shot put. Clerk of Course is at the West end of the track, across from the concession stand.
Athletes are asked to check in no later than the second call, so they have time to get their hip number. The hip number should be on their RIGHT HIP..
Team camps- You may set up in the visitors stands or anywhere around/under the visitors stands. Team
camps may NOT be located under the home stands, around the South side of the home stadium, or West side.
Busses should drop the athletes off on the visitor stand side of the stadium and then park in the very North parking lot of the school. Parking is limited so most of the spectators will need to park also North of the school.
