18th Annual ESU Red & Black Invitational

Dear Coaches,
Enclosed is the meet schedule/information on our Red + Black Invitational (Saturday April 19). ONLY high school athletes are eligible to compete. Best of luck with your season and please contact us with any questions.
DIVISIONS: Top seeded marks will be seeded in the Invitational section of the Running and Field events.
FACILITY:
Gates open at 8am.
400-meter euro-tan surface. Eight 42 lanes around the entire track. We have dual long/triple jump pits. Javelin is thrown off of a NEW all-weather runway.
ENTRY FEES: $20.00 per event per individual/ $25.00 per relay
Team entries: $300.00 per team ($600 combined boys and girls).

ENTRY PROCEDURES: Well be using Milesplit. Entries are due Thursday, April 17th by 4PM.
5 max in running events
4 max in field events (shot, disc, jav, LJ, TJ)
relays are unlimited.
No additional entries will be accepted after 4pm on April 17th.
THERE WILL BE NO ADDING ATHLETES/RELAYS ON MEET DAY
ACCEPTED ENTRIES: Accepted Field Event Entries: We will be accepting the top 36 entries in the field events. Accepted entries will be emailed out and posted on our website Friday April 18th by 8pm. The top 12 seed marks will be in the invite flight of the event. Please put a seed mark in for all of your athletes. We can not make a determination on an athlete with no mark.

DO NOT turn up Center Street from Prospect Street with a bus. It will not be able to make the turn.
Directions Upon Arrival: Take exit 308 and make the first right turn at the light; E Brown Street. Make a left onto Smith Street and then the first left before the Fieldhouse onto Centre Street.
Or:
Take Exit 309 onto PA-447 N. Make a left at the first light; Independence Road and then first left onto E Brown Street. Take a right onto Smith Street and then the first left before the Fieldhouse onto Centre Street.
Bus Drop Off: Turn onto Centre Street by the tennis courts and you will be directed from there.
Parking: Please park behind Kemp Library or in the Fine and Performing Arts parking lot after drop off.
SPECTATOR FEE:Adults and Children:$5
DRESSING FACILITIES: Lockers and showers are not available. Valuables should be secured.
EQUIPMENT: Bring your own throwing implements, tape measures, and poles. Blocks will be provided.
SHOES: Spikes or less. Especially the javelin runway- shoes will be checked.
Only implements that meet the following weight standards can be used in either warm-up or competition:

Discus
Boys: 1.6 kg or 3.53 lbs
Girls: 1 kg or 2.20 lbs
Shot
Boys: 12 lbs
Girls: 4 kg or 8.82 lbs
Throws
- Must have a seeded mark
-- Entries are capped at the top 36 boys and 36 girls (make sure you enter with a seed mark)
-- Three trials per athlete and top 9 go to finals
Starting Heights: Boards:
HJ (G:46/ B: 56) LJ - 1m (3)
PV (G: 7/ B: 10) TJ - only two boards will be used for competition
Field Events

CLERK OF THE COURSE/ CHECK-IN: PLEASE have your athletes check-in at first call so we can keep the meet moving (field event at the site...running events clerked at tent beyond finish line) COACHES SHOULD SCRATCH ATHLETES NOT COMPETING!!!
RELAY CARDS: Fill out relay cards with complete names (girls yellow, boys blue).
NEWAWARDS: Top three finishers will receive custom Red + Black medals
OTHER INFORMATION
Athletic Trainers will be available at the clerk tent/throwing area
We will have a concession stand for food/t-shirts that will be open.
At the end of the meet please CLEAN UP your area!
In case of lightning well evacuate to: Zimbar Gym, Stroud Hall, School buses (Please Check map for locations)
