The Spanish River standout recorded her 5th sub 19 minute time by navigating the McAlpine course in 18:57.50 to win the Foot Locker South Regional Girls Freshman race by nearly ten seconds.

Three Virginians finish inside the top 10 in the two championship races to advance to Nationals out in San Diego in two weeks. Leading these finishers was Heather Holt (GCM) who put up a great last surge to finish second in 17:23.
The freshman ran a 15:06 to finish 7th and claim a trip to Foot Locker Nationals.
Pine Crest freshman Tsion Yared nabbed one of the five individual qualifying spots at NXNSE to make it to Portland, Oregon and Nike Nationals. Her time of 17:42.40 was the third fastest of any Floridian this week behind only Foot Locker qualifiers Bailey Hertenstein (17:41.20) and Amanda Beach's 17:41.20. In case you were wondering her time would have placed 8th overall behind Hertenstein among all Foot Locker South entrants. We merged the results of all the races from FL South and NXNSE to see who won the week.
Calvary Christian's Danny Ferro won the boys junior race at Foot Locker South in a time of 16:08.90. That mark would have put him as the 11th runner on Team FL in the seeded race and nearly a minute behind qualifier Charles Hicks of Bolles who ran the best time of the week, 15:07.90. Trent Mandato who decided to compete with his Trinity Prep teammates at NXNSE had the 4th fastest time at 15:25.60. We merged the results from both regionals to see who won the week.

Several Texas runners flocked to Foot Locker South and several qualified for Foot Locker Nationals.

Melbourne Central Catholic senior and Duke signee Amanda Beach finished 5th at Foot Locker South in a new PR and FL#1 time of 17:31.10 while 2x 4A Cross Country Finals state champion Bailey Hertenstein finished 7th. The two will head to San Diego for Foot Locker Nationals and end a two year drought of Florida girls not advancing.
Bolles sophomore Charles Hicks admitted he surprised himself at the Foot Locker South Regional by squeezing in the top ten and advancing to Foot Locker Nationals in San Diego with a personal best and state leading time of 15:07.50.

The top ten girls and boys finishers in the championship races will earn a ticket the national meet December 10th in sunny San Diego California. After a very successful 2015 race, Team Virginia is looking for another huge outcome at the Foot Locker South Regional this Saturday in Charlotte, NC. Though there are over a dozen races on the day, the biggest of those races are the Boys and Girls Championship races scheduled right in the middle of competition.
